Do not hold love back in reserve; sit down, share fully, and let what is true come out into the open.
The verse
Literal translation
Why-hold-back-āvaḍī — sit-eat-with-us. Don't-leave-urī — my-pledge-on-you. Prakāra-I-saw — I'll-see-sāchāra. Tukā: bāḷī — made-chāhāḍī-to-all.
What it means
A 3-verse petition. Why hold back love — sit with us and eat; don't leave anything behind; what I've seen, I'll see truly; the child has told (about you) to everyone.
For someone today
Tukaram asks why hold affection back at all, inviting the beloved to sit down and eat together without keeping anything in reserve, and he seals this invitation with his own pledge. Whatever he has glimpsed or half-understood before, he now wants to see fully and truly for himself. He closes wryly, saying the child has already told everyone, so there is nothing left to hide.
Where this applies

- When you make a private promise or pledge to someone you love
- When you want to verify with your own eyes something you've only heard or half seen before
- When something private has become known to everyone and there's no point hiding it anymore
