Abhanga 3587
The bhakta is allowed to call-out divine-delay: become-quickly-udāra; the work-itself isn't-actually-long. Persistent-stretching can begin to feel like the Lord's own aḷasa.
The verse
Literal translation
Vrttīvari āmhām yeṇe kāśāsāṭīm — why this coming back to vrtti to us; evaḍhī he āṭī sōsāvayā — to bear such āṭī. Jāṇatasām parī neṇate jī devā — (you) know, yet feign not-knowing, O Deva; bhrama chi baravā rākhāvā tō — is delusion the thing to be kept. Mōḍūnī kṣaralōm abhedāchī mūsa — (I) have broken and leaked out the mould of abheda; tumhām kām aḷasa vōḍavalā — why has aḷasa settled on you. Tukā mhaṇe hōī lavakari udāra — Tukā says: become udāra quickly; lāmbaṇīche phāra kāma nāhīm — not much work of long-stretching.
What it means
A 3-verse impatient bhakta-rebuke-to-the-Lord. Why-am-I-coming-back-to-mental-modifications and-bearing-this-strain; you-know but-pretend-not-to-know — should-the-delusion-be-kept; I've-broken-the-mould-of-abheda and-leaked-out — why-has-aḷasa fallen-on-you; quickly-become-generous, no-need-for-long-stretching. The mūsa (mould) of abheda — the crucible in which the bhakta is being-cast.
