When an unexplained turn in life dissolves your plans and pulls you deeply toward the divine, ask that its purpose be revealed and let grace follow quickly.
The verse
पडिला प्रसंग कां मी ऐसा नेणें । संकल्प ते मनें जिरवले ॥१॥
चेष्टाविलें तरी सांगावें कारणे । भक्ती ते उजेवन करावया ॥ध्रु.॥
लावूनियां दृिष्ट घेतली सामोरी । बैसलें जिव्हारीं डसोन तें ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे जीवा लाविला तो चाळा । करावें गोपाळा शीघ्र दान ॥३॥
Literal translation
Prasanga-fallen — I-don't-know-why — samkalpas-digested-by-mana. If-set-in-motion — tell-kāraṇa-bhakti-ujēvana. Lavished-drṣṭi-took-into-presence — biting-in-jihvārī. Tukā: chāḷā-for-jīva — quick-dāna-Gopāḷa.
What it means
A 3-verse text. A situation has fallen I don't understand; the samkalpas digested down by mana; if you've stirred me, tell the reason — to make bhakti the light; with lavished gaze you've taken me into your presence, biting-fast in my heart; give the gift quickly.

Tukārām describes a moment he can't quite explain, something has happened to him, and his own inner plans and intentions have quietly dissolved, absorbed by his own mind. He asks that if he's been stirred up on purpose, let the reason be revealed, so that it can turn his devotion into something bright and clear rather than confusion. He feels the divine's full attention resting on him, taking him into its presence, settling deep in his heart like something that has taken hold and won't let go. He ends with an urgent plea, since this move has already been made on his life, let the gift, the grace, come quickly now.
मराठी: तुकाराम अशा एका क्षणाचं वर्णन करतात जो त्यांना नीट समजावता येत नाही, काहीतरी त्यांच्यासोबत घडलं आहे, आणि त्यांचे स्वतःचे मनसुबे शांतपणे विरघळून गेले आहेत, त्यांच्याच मनाने ते पचवले आहेत. जर त्यांना मुद्दाम हलवलं गेलं असेल, तर त्याचं कारण उघड व्हावं, जेणेकरून त्यांची भक्ती गोंधळाऐवजी उजळ आणि स्पष्ट होईल, अशी ते विनंती करतात. देवाचं पूर्ण लक्ष आपल्यावर आहे असं त्यांना जाणवतं, त्याने त्यांना आपल्या सान्निध्यात घेतलं आहे, आणि ते मनात खोलवर घट्ट रुतून बसलं आहे. शेवटी ते तातडीने विनवतात, आयुष्यात हा बदल आधीच घडलेला आहे, म्हणून कृपेची देणगी आता लवकर यावी.
