Literal translation
Māgem puḍhem nāhīm — no back-or-front; duje yāvegaḷem kāmhīm — nothing other than this. Nāhīm urale āṇīka — nothing else remains; kelā jhāḍā sakaḷika — the full accounting has been done. Viśvāsāvāmchūna — without trust; nāmve dujiyāche śūnya — the names of others are zero. Devāviṇa kāmhīm — except Deva, anything; Tukā mhaṇe urī nāhīm — Tukā says, is not left over.
What it means
A 3-verse sole-refuge declaration. No-back-no-front; nothing-other-remains; the-jhāḍā-full-reckoning-cleared; without-viśvāsa other-names-are-śūnya; except-Deva nothing-is-left.
For someone today
Tukārām's accounting: I-have-cleared-all-other-accounts; trust-is-the-only-thing-that-gives-other-names-their-value; without-Deva, nothing-remains.
