Abhanga 3956
Tukaram declares Pandharpur the crown jewel of all pilgrimage places and his true resting place, ranking it even above Vaikuntha.
The verse
सकळतीर्थांहूनि । पंढरीनाथ मुगुटमणी ॥१॥
धन्यधन्य पंढरी । जे मोक्षाची अक्षय पुरी ॥ध्रु.॥
विश्रांतीचा ठाव । तो हा माझा पंढरीराव ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे सांगतों स्पष्ट । दुजी पंढरी वैकुंठ ॥३॥
Literal translation
Sakaḷa-tīrthāhūni — more than all tīrthas; Paṇḍharī-nātha mukuṭa-maṇī — Paṇḍharī-nātha (is) mukuṭa-maṇī. Dhanya-dhanya Paṇḍharī — blessed-blessed Paṇḍharī; je mōkṣāñcī akṣaya purī — (which is) mokṣa's akṣaya-purī. Viśrāmtīñcā ṭhāva — place of viśrānti; tō hā mājhā Paṇḍharī-rāva — this is my Paṇḍharī-rāva. Tukā mhaṇe sāngatōm spaṣṭa — Tukā says: I speak clearly; dujī Paṇḍharī Vaikuṇṭha — the second Paṇḍharī is Vaikuṇṭha.

A canonical 3-verse Paṇḍharī-praise. The closing-claim is striking: the second-Paṇḍharī is-Vaikuṇṭha — earthly-Paṇḍharī is-the-first, Vaikuṇṭha-is-only-an-image-of-it.

Tukaram calls Pandharpur the crown jewel above every other pilgrimage site, an everlasting city of liberation, and the true place of rest for his heart. He goes so far as to say that even Vaikuntha, the divine abode itself, ranks only second to this earthly Pandhari. The lesson is about recognizing that the place where you find real peace and connection to God can matter more than any distant, idealized paradise.
मराठी: तुकाराम पंढरपूरला सर्व तीर्थक्षेत्रांमधला मुकुटमणी म्हणतात, मोक्षाची चिरंतन नगरी आणि आपल्या मनाला खरी विश्रांती देणारे स्थान. इतकेच नव्हे तर वैकुंठ, जे देवाचे स्वतःचे निवासस्थान आहे, तेही या पृथ्वीवरच्या पंढरीच्या तुलनेत दुसऱ्या क्रमांकावर आहे, असे ते ठामपणे सांगतात. खरी शांती आणि देवाशी जोडलेपण जिथे मिळते ते स्थान कधीकधी कोणत्याही दूरच्या, आदर्श स्वर्गापेक्षा अधिक महत्त्वाचे ठरू शकते, हे या अभंगातून समजते.
