Abhanga 4056
Genuine remorse and sincere yearning for God together purify the heart, leaving no trace of old faults, until longing and mind become one.
When you feel untouched or numb about your own mistakes and sense something needs to shift.
When you worry that past faults disqualify you from real devotion or closeness to God.
When you want devotion to stop feeling like effort and start feeling like your natural state of mind.
The verse
भय नाहीं भेव । अनुतापीं नव्हतां जीव ॥१॥
जेथें देवाची तळमळ । तेथें काशाचा विटाळ ॥ध्रु.॥
उच्चारितां दोष । नाहीं उरों देत लेश ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे चित्त । होय आवडी मिश्रित ॥३॥
Literal translation
No bhaya, no bheva — anutāpa-less jīva not-(active). Where Deva's yearning — what viṭāḷa? Uttering — no leśa of dōṣa remains. Tukā: chitta becomes mixed with āvaḍī.
What it means
A 3-verse text on yearning-yielding-purity: where the Lord-is-yearned-for, defilement-doesn't-stick; the Name leaves no trace of dōṣa.
