The verse
अनंत लक्षणें वाणितां अपार । संताचें तें घर सांपडेना ॥१॥
जये घरीं संत राहती आपण । तें तुम्हां ठिकाण आतुडेना ॥ध्रु.॥
ठिकाण धरूनी पाहवे ते संत । उगा च अकांत करूं नये ॥२॥
संत होऊनियां संतांसी पाहावें । तरि च तरावें तुका म्हणे ॥३॥
Literal translation
Describing-santa-lakṣaṇa-apāra — house-not-found. Where-santas-live — ṭhikāṇa-not-within-reach. Fix-ṭhikāṇa-then-see-santas — don't-be-scattered. Tukā: become-sant-to-see-sant — only-then-cross.
What it means
★ A 3-verse recognition-by-becoming text. Describing endless marks of santas is unlimited; but you don't find the santa's house. The very place where the santas dwell doesn't become within your reach. Fix the place, then look at the santas; don't just stay scattered. Becoming a sant oneself, one (truly) sees the santas — only then is one able to cross. The structural claim: describing-marks-doesn't-find-santa; only-becoming-like-a-sant-recognizes-sant.
