Listen-vīnavatī — Rakhumāī's-pati-Pāṇḍurangā.
The verse
Literal translation
Listen-vīnavatī — Rakhumāī's-pati-Pāṇḍurangā. Mistaken-bāḷa-shouldn't-be-killed — māyabāpa-do-hita. Tukā: I-called-yours — now-lāja-on-you.
What it means
★ A 3-verse mistaken-child mother-father-bhrida text. At least now listen to my plea, Rakhumāī's husband, Pāṇḍurangā. The mistaken child shouldn't be killed with life — the mother-father should do (his) welfare. Tukā says: they call me yours — now the shame is on you. The bhrida-argument: people-call-me-yours (publicly-known-association) — so if I fail, the shame belongs to you. Pair with 2842 (mother-cuts-throat extreme-abandonment), 4255 (don't-pacify-with-shard).
