Tukārām rejects the bhānga-tamākhū corruption-of-mind among-fake-renunciates.
The verse
न म्हणे वो आम्ही आपुलेनि चित्ती । निःशेष अतिप्रीति विषयीं तो ॥१॥
खोटा तो विटाळ । म्हणोनि गाबाळ सांडियेले ॥ध्रु.॥
भांगतमाखूचा चित्ताचा आदर । कोरडें उत्तर चाटावें तें ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे आम्ही नव्हों फजितखोर । तुटीचा व्यापार करावया ॥३॥
Literal translation
Na mhaṇe vō āmhī āpulēni chittī — we don't say we (have) — from our chitti; niḥśeṣa atiprīti viṣayīm tō — niḥśeṣa-atiprīti in viṣaya. Khōṭā tō viṭāḷa — the viṭāḷa is khōṭā; mhaṇōnī gabāḷa sāṇḍiyele — therefore (we) abandoned gabāḷa. Bhānga-tamākhūñcā chittāñcā ādara — bhānga-tamākhū regard in chitta; kōraḍe uttara chāṭāve te — (is like) licking a dry uttara. Tukā mhaṇe āmhī navhōm phajita-khōra — Tukā says: we're not phajita-khōra; tuṭīñcā vyāpāra karāvayā — to do broken-business.
