Literal translation
Teach-disciple — guru-pūjā-special. Show-ācāra-sōvaḷē — daṇḍa-kamaṇḍalu-māḷē. Chāṭī-bhagavī — vyartha-samnyāsī. Tukā: lōbha-doesn't-leave — no-lābha.
What it means
★ A 3-verse anti-fake-samnyāsī text. To the disciple he teaches — guru-worship is the special thing. He shows right-conduct, ritual-purity — staff, water-pot, rosary. He wears the ochre cloth in mind — uselessly he calls himself samnyāsī. Tukā says: if greed does not leave — there is no gain. The diagnosis: external-symbols (staff, water-pot, rosary, ochre-cloth) don't make-a-samnyāsī; without-inner-lōbha-renunciation, no lābha. Pair with 4423 (anti-fake-guru-disciple-yearly-rent), 4253 (anti-fake-mahanti), 4286 (anti-bhōndū-fake-sādhu).
