The verse
Literal translation
A canonical 9-verse Yaśodā-Krṣṇa narrative with-paradox-claims. The Lord-in-līlā-form lets-his-mother clothe-and-feed-him; he-sits-on-her-thigh and does-stanapāna (suckles). The Witness-of-the-sky-and-beyond-pātāḷa is being-cradled by-her-hands. She-feeds, says enough; he-gives-a-burp. Then the comparison: tuḷasī-daḷa-with-bhāva is-far-greater than-the-kṣīra-sāgara; one-may-tire of-kṣīra but-not-of-bhakti-water; bhaktas-are-dearer-than-(his)-jīva to-Deva; with-all-bhāva-he-is-their-ankita. Tukā: he-does-all-their-work.
What it means
A canonical Yaśodā-Krṣṇa paradox text. The cosmic-Lord (witness-of-sky-and-beyond-pātāḷa) being-cradled-by-Yaśodā is the foundational bhakti-paradox-of-līlā. The tuḷasī-daḷa > kṣīra-sāgara claim is foundational: a-single-leaf-of-tulsi-offered-with-bhāva is-greater-than-the-cosmic-ocean-of-milk.
For someone today
Tukārām's bhakti-paradox: the-cosmic-Lord makes-himself-small for-bhakti; a-leaf-with-bhāva beats-an-ocean.
