Abhanga 4572
Even a peaceful, blessed season of life may need to be rebuilt elsewhere when new threats arise, and that rebuilding is not defeat.
The verse
भजल्या गोपिका सर्व भावें देवा । नाहीं चित्ती हेवा दुजा कांहीं ॥१॥
दुजा छंदु नाहीं तयांचिये मनीं । जागृति सपनीं कृष्णध्यान ॥२॥
ध्यान ज्यां हरीचें हरीसि तयांचें । चित्त ग्वाही ज्यांचें तैशा भावें ॥३॥
भाग्यें पूर्वपुण्यें आठविती लोक । अवघे सकळिक मथुरेचे ॥४॥
मथुरेचे लोक सुखी केले जन । तेथें नारायण राज्य करी ॥५॥
राज्य करी गोपीयादवांसहित । कमिऩलें बहुतकाळ तेथें ॥६॥
तेथें दैत्यीं उपसर्ग केला लोकां । रचिली द्वारका तुका म्हणे ॥७॥
Literal translation
Gopikā-bhajile-sarva-bhāve-Deva — no-second-hevā-chitti. No-second-chhanda-mana — jāgrti-svapna-Krṣṇa-dhyāna. Dhyāna-Hari-Hari-of-them — chitta-gvāhī-bhāve. Pūrva-puṇya-Mathurā-people-blessed. Mathurā-people-happy — Nārāyaṇa-rules. Rules-with-Gopī-Yādavas — much-time-passed. Daityas-troubled-people — Dvārakā-rachilī-Tukā says.

For someone today
The gopis worshipped God with their whole heart, holding no envy or divided desire, so completely that Krishna filled their thoughts both in waking life and in their dreams. Because of good fortune built up from earlier goodness, the people of Mathura were blessed to live under Krishna's rule for a long, peaceful stretch of time, together with the cowherds and the Yadava clan. But eventually demons began troubling the people again, and Tukaram tells us that's why Krishna built Dvaraka: even a good, settled life sometimes has to be rebuilt elsewhere when new threats arise.
मराठी: गोपींनी देवाची पूजा संपूर्ण मनाने केली, कोणताही मत्सर किंवा दुसरी इच्छा न ठेवता, इतकी की जागृतीत आणि स्वप्नातही कृष्णच त्यांच्या विचारांत भरून राहिला. आधीच्या पुण्याईमुळे मथुरेच्या लोकांना कृष्णाच्या राज्यात गवळी आणि यादव कुळासोबत बराच काळ शांततेत राहायचे भाग्य मिळाले. पण शेवटी राक्षसांनी लोकांना पुन्हा त्रास द्यायला सुरुवात केली, आणि तुकाराम सांगतात यामुळेच कृष्णाने द्वारका बांधली: चांगले, स्थिरावलेले आयुष्यसुद्धा कधीकधी नवीन संकट आल्यावर दुसरीकडे पुन्हा उभे करावे लागते.
