Abhanga 169
This abhang names a recognition-moment. You come home and find your milk-pot upturned (your prior arrangement disturbed). You don't immediately know who. But after a moment of looking — only one person does this kind of disruption to me. The signature is unmistakable.
The verse
पाहाती गौळणी । तंव पालथी दुधाणी ॥१॥ म्हणती नंदाचिया पोरें । आजि चोरी केली खरें ॥ध्रु.॥ त्याविण हे नासी । नव्हे दुसरिया ऐसी ॥२॥ सवें तुका मेळा । त्याणें अगुणा आणिला ॥३॥
Literal translation
English: The gopis look — and there, the milk-pot is upturned. They say: Nanda's son did the theft for sure. Without him this could not have spoiled — it is not done by another like (this). Tuka was joined with him; he brought (Tuka) to aguṇā (without-quality).
मराठी: गौळणी पाहतात — तंव पालथी दुधाणी (दुधाची मडकं). म्हणतात — नंदाचा पोरगा — आज खरंच चोरी केली. त्याविण हे नासणार नाही — दुसऱ्याकडून असं होत नाही. तुका त्याच्यासोबत मेळला — त्याने अगुणा आणला.

What it means
The post-theft discovery moment in the gopa-shikā / kālā cluster. The milk has been distributed (166), the bold drank to satisfaction (167), the bellies were full and the burden lifted (168). Now (169) the gopis come back and find पालथी दुधाणी — the milk-pot upturned — and immediately know:
नंदाचिया पोरें आजि चोरी केली खरें — Nanda's son did the theft today, for sure.
त्याविण हे नासी, नव्हे दुसरिया ऐसी — without him this could not have been spoiled; it is not done by another like (this).
The diagnostic claim is structural: only Krishna does this kind of disruption. The signature is unmistakable. The gopis are not angry; the verse is in the loving-recognition register — we know who did this, and we know there is no one else who does it like this.
The closing turn from third-person to first-person is Tukaram's signature move: सवें तुका मेळा, त्याणें अगुणा आणिला — Tuka was joined with him; he brought (Tuka) to aguṇā (without-quality). Aguṇa — without the three guṇas (sattva, rajas, tamas) — is the post-Krishna state. He is the disrupter who upturns and the joiner who brings the joined-one to the gunas-less state. [T]

That one person may be a teacher, a beloved, a practice, the deity, a real friend — anyone whose love-effect is to upturn your prior containers. Two diagnostics:
- त्याविण हे नासी — without them, this would not have been spoiled. Without their specific intervention, your milk-pot would still be upright (and unused).
- नव्हे दुसरिया ऐसी — no one else does it like this. The signature is theirs alone.
And the deeper claim: त्याणें अगुणा आणिला — they brought you to aguṇa (without-quality). The relationship-effect is quality-loss — the prior categories you arranged your life by no longer apply. This sounds bad but is good — aguṇā in the bhakti vocabulary is liberation-into-non-trivial-being.
मराठी: ही ओवी recognition-moment नाव सांगते. घरी येता आणि पालथी दुधाणी सापडते (तुमची prior arrangement बिघडलेली). कोण केलं ते लगेच कळत नाही. पण क्षणभर पाहिल्यावर — एकच व्यक्ती अशी disruption मला करते. signature unmistakable.
ती एक व्यक्ती — teacher, प्रिय, practice, देव, खरा मित्र — कुणीही ज्यांचा love-effect तुमची prior containers उलथवणं. दोन diagnostics:
- त्याविण हे नासी — त्यांच्याशिवाय हे नासलं नसतं. त्यांच्या specific intervention शिवाय तुमचं milk-pot upright आणि unused राहिलं असतं.
- नव्हे दुसरिया ऐसी — दुसरा कुणी असं करत नाही. signature त्यांची एकट्याची.
खोलवरचा दावा: त्याणें अगुणा आणिला — त्यांनी अगुणा आणला. नात्याचा परिणाम quality-loss — prior categories ज्यांनी तुम्ही आयुष्य लावलं — आता लागू नाहीत. वाईट वाटतं पण चांगलं आहे — अगुणा bhakti शब्दकोशात non-trivial being-मध्ये liberation.
