Longing for the divine can feel like a fish gasping without water, where a single moment stretches like an age, yet a faithful, steady friend remains present through it.
The verse
न गमे न गमे न गमे हरिविण । न मगे न मगे न मगे मेळवा शाम कोणी गे ॥१॥
तळमळ करी तैसा जीव जळाविण मासा । दिसती दिशा ओसा वो ॥ध्रु.॥
नाठवे भूक तान विकळ जालें मन । घडी जाय प्रमाण जुगा एकी वो ॥२॥
जरी तुम्ही नोळखा सांगतें ऐका । तुकयाबंधूचा सखा जगजीवन ॥३॥
Literal translation
Na-game-na-game-na-game-without-Hari; please-bring-Śyāma-someone! Jīva-trembles like-fish-without-water; diśā-look-ōsā. Bhūkha-tāna-na-āṭhave; vikaḷa-mana; one-ghaḍī-passes like-one-yuga. If-you-don't-know — tell — Tukayā-bandhū's-friend is-Jagajīvana.

A NON-Tukārām composition by Kānhōbā (Tukārām's-brother). Signed Tukayā-bandhū-cha sakhā Jagajīvana (the-friend of Tukārām's-brother is Jagajīvana). Gopī-viraha (separation)-tone in feminine-voice.
