When the noise of everyday concerns finally quiets down, sincere devotion is what lets the divine take real hold in you.
The verse
Literal translation
All-in-prārabdha-hātī — let-kākulatī-come. Mana-told-bhāva — until-then-no-second-Deva. When-everyone's-karakara-settles — bhāva-balē-thāra-taken. Tukā: keep-you-by-worship — no-other-guṇa-here.
What it means
A 3-verse prārabdha-text. Everything is in prārabdha's hand; let anxious-longing come; my mana has told the bhāva; when everyone's chatter settles, you come by bhāva's strength; I keep you by worship — no other guṇa here.
For someone today
Tukaram says everything ultimately rests in the hands of prarabdha, one's accumulated destiny, so there is no shame in letting heartfelt longing rise up now. His mind has already declared its devotion, and until that devotion bears fruit there is no other god for him. Only when the noise and chatter of everyday life settles down does the divine, through the strength of that devotion, come to take a real foothold within him. He resolves simply to keep worshipping, admitting he has no other quality to offer.
