For someone today
Tukaram prays that the same grace God has shown to countless other souls, freeing them from their bindings, be shown to him too, right now. He asks Vishwambhara, the compassionate carer of devotees, to let him in on the inner secret of things, promising to guard that seed carefully within himself. He wants to see God's feet with an equal, unbiased eye and hold that vision close in his heart. If that happens, he says, the restlessness in his mind will finally quiet, every part of his body will feel cool and at ease, and peace will settle in permanently, never to be broken again.
Where this applies
- When you feel bound by something and are asking for the same freedom others have already received
- When you want to look at everyone and everything with an equal, unbiased eye instead of judgment
- When restlessness or agitation in your mind will not settle and you long for real calm
- When you want peace that is not temporary but permanent, something that will not break again
