What it means
A 7-verse yamak-bandha — Kamsa-vadha finale. The classical Bhāgavata-arc closes: (a) Nārāyaṇa-killed-Kamsa-Chāṇūra (the wrestler), (b) Ugrasena (Kamsa's father) installed-on-throne as-śaraṇāgata — abhakta-end-fulfilled, (c) all-made-his-ankita, (d) Gōpī-nātha stays-in-Mathurā — Vaikuṇṭha-nāyaka comes, (e) parents Devakī-Vasudeva freed (from Kamsa's prison), (f) closing: sōḍavaṇē dhāmvē bhaktāchyā kaivārēm — Tukā mhaṇē karēm śastra dharī (the rescue-releasing runs for the bhakta's championing — Tukā says — he holds the weapon in his hand). Pair with 4564 (preceding meeting), 4567 (parents-equality).
For someone today
After killing the tyrant Kamsa and his wrestler Chanura, God doesn't take the throne for himself. He restores it to Ugrasena, the rightful elder who comes to him in surrender, and frees Krishna's own parents from the prison they'd been held in. Tukaram says every part of this was done personally, by God's own hand, and closes with a vivid image: God runs, weapon in hand, whenever his devotees need someone to fight for them and stand up on their side. Nothing in this act was for God's own gain; it was entirely in service of setting things right and protecting those who turn to him.
Where this applies
- When you have power or authority and must decide whether to keep it or hand it to whoever rightfully deserves it
- When someone in your family or community has been unjustly confined and needs to be freed
- When you need reassurance that you're not facing injustice alone and someone will actively fight on your side
- When correcting a wrong requires personal, hands-on action rather than delegating it to someone else
